Update on Amazon Expansion December 1, 1998 I guess word got out on the pricing of a few items inside Amazon's new gifts area. As some of the discounts were raised on products examined in Amazon Expansion on November 17, 1998. PalmPilots The PalmPilot III now has a 11% discount, from 10% and is now $329.99. The discount on the PalmPilot Professional was raised an additional 2% discount, now to 12%. While the price list at Computers.Com of PalmPilot IIIs shows that BuyComp has dropped down to $248.95 as of 11/30/98 from their $274.95 price on November 17. Sony Digital Mavica Camera (MVC-FD51) Amazon doubled the discount on the Sony Mavica digital camera which was listed at $539.95 also with a 10% discount on November 17. Now the discount has jumped to 20% to lower the price to $479.99 with discounts. I guess Amazon can take comfort that they are only now in the top tier of pricing on the camera, not the highest like they were when I originally compared the prices. Again, BuyComp at $425.95 is the lowest on the price list for the camera. Which is only a $4 drop from the price listed on November 17.
