Vendors not only show off their product lines, but many of their technical employees attend the numerous courses, panels, and research paper discussions to gain knowledge and get a glimpse of graphics techniques that may eventually be implemented in future products.

To be sure, Dr. Tenner notes that research shows the thumb does half the overall work of the hand. But its typing prowess has emerged only with text messaging. As cellphones evolved into devices that fit in a palm, the thumb wound up in an opportune position for both dialing and text messaging.
